Passive substitutes | Passiversatz
“Passiversatz” is used to avoid repetitions in the passive constructions. Passiversatz has various forms and can be easily formed using either “sein+zu+Infinitiv” or “sich lassen” or by transforming the verb into an adjective. The Passiversatz form for sentences with “müssen, sollen and nicht dürfen” however, can be only be formed with “sein+zu+Infinitiv”
